## How the Quote Tool Works

The quote tool collects the following inputs to generate a personalized price:

Pet information: name, species (dog or cat), breed, age, and sex.
Owner information: name, email, mobile number, and zip code.

After entering pet and owner details, the tool displays an accident and illness quote. Pet parents then customize the following plan options, and the quote updates in real time:

Annual deductible: $100, $250, $500, or $1,000.
Reimbursement rate: 70%, 80%, or 90%.
Annual limit: $2,500, $5,000, $7,500, $10,000, or unlimited.

Pet parents can switch to an accident-only plan and customize it with the same options. After customizing the base plan, pet parents can add a preventive care add-on (Gold or Platinum tier) and add additional pets before proceeding to checkout.

Premiums vary based on species, breed, age, and location. Dog plans start from $15/month. Cat plans start from $9/month. These starting prices are based on specific plan configurations and may not reflect every pet's quote.

- Waiting periods apply: Up to 14 days for illnesses. Waiting periods for accidents vary by state; in states that have adopted the NAIC Pet Insurance Model Act, no waiting period applies to accidents. Waiting periods may be waived with a veterinary exam. See your policy documents for state-specific details.
- Minimum enrollment age: 8 weeks
- No upper age limit
- Premiums may increase or decrease based on pet age, breed, and location
